The Paperless Office
I have paper. I have a LOT of paper. In my effort to de-clutter and de-junk my life I've decided that getting rid of all of this paper is in my best interest.
To that end, I purchased a scanner and am in the process of scanning all of my personal documents. Divorce documents, taxes, checking statements, utility bills, notes, articles from old magazines, old forms, the works. Did I mention that it's a lot of paper?
It's a daunting task to look at 6 banker's boxes full of paper and realize how much time and effort it's going to to take to scan all of this crap. I could pay someone to do it all but what's the fun in that? I'd rather add to the drama of my life and scan every single document.
I'm taking it one piece of paper at a time. A little every single day. Thus far I've scanned most of the documents from my divorce - no small feat and have moved on to my taxes.
It's a pain in the butt, but at the end of the day it's 6 boxes of crap I don't have to deal with.
Now I need to buy a shredder and work diligently to not overload it and burn out the motor - like I did with the last one. oops.
Just wanted to say hi, looked for you on myspace and couldn't find you. Hope your doing well.
