iPod
I have a slightly older iPod (year and half old).
Worked great for a while. Then the battery wouldn’t hold a charge, apparently a common enough problem with this model. I sent it back to Apple and forked over $70 for the privilege of being without decent tunes for THREE WEEKS.
Apple replaced it with a brand new iPod of the same model (I guess easier than opening up the thing and plopping a new battery in). I load the sucker up. Get it in the car… it won’t play the first several tracks on any album. AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!
Over the next week I spend 10 hours scouring websites, troubleshooting, reading message boards, installing and reinstalling iPod updater software…. all to no avail.
I call tech support (FYI, the only way to get the tech support phone number is on the back of their invoice. It’s not on the website, I looked. If you need the number, shoot me an email). They tell me that the iPod is most likely borked. Really? I hadn’t realized that by now… thanks brainiac.
Now I’m iPod-less (again) waiting for a box to come from Apple so that I can ship the damn thing back… again.
I'm seriously considering forking out $249 for a new iPod Nano.
